Stunning country house, retaining the original and authentic features house, 160 square meters, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private swimming pool.
Located in the heart of Provence, in a quiet and peaceful area, 2kms away from Banon, a beautiful provençal village, very famous locally and in the whole country for its cheese “le Banon”.
Old family stone house tastefully renovated to high standards, with care and love. As you enter the house, you are immediately greeted to a spacious lounge boasting the original features such as thick walls and high-ceilings. The wide and deep fireplace and the antic overhanging tapestry are worthy of a traditional French castle. The dining table in the adjacent dining room can seat comfortably 12 to 16 people. The three bedrooms and mezzanine area offer ample space to sleep up to 10 people.
The large bay windows bring a warm light in the house and offer a panoramic view on the lavender fields surrounding the house. The furniture have been sitting in the house for several generations, providing a feeling of authenticity.
The old 17th century seigneurial mill is today used as an annexe and storage place for this period house – you will find there swimming pool and BBQ tools and equipment. Whilst some people in your group may enjoy relaxing by the swimming pool to the side of the house, other members of the party may prefer to sit on the wide terrace in the shade of the old family plane tree, after a typical family meal.
The dwelling is located in a small set of houses (a “hameau” in French) but is totally independent due to its position at the footstep of the beautiful chapel ‘Notre Dame des Anges’ and facing a large lavender field. From the terrace and the swimming pool there is a nice view on the picturesque village of Banon.
The area offers a wide range of activities for all. The more active would enjoy walks and hiking to little villages perched on the surrounding hills and mountains – either on foot, on bicycle or on a horse. While others would look for bargains on the typical provençal markets, or simply do there your food shopping. In the evening, all can enjoy the typical Provence sunset on the hills and lavender fields, bathed in these unique colours so particular to the region and so well depicted in many famous paintings.
